Classic English Cottage Gardens of the 1950s
The 1950s marked a post-war era of rebuilding — not just homes, but spirits. Cottage gardens bloomed as cozy sanctuaries full of life, color, and fragrance. They weren’t designed with perfection, but with love.
These gardens were dense with foxgloves, delphiniums, and hollyhocks. Pebbled paths meandered through tiny plots, leading to birdbaths or wooden benches for reading and reflection.
Simplicity Meets Soul
We recreated one using heirloom seeds, salvaged bricks for edging, and hand-painted garden markers just like our grandmother once used. Butterflies came first, then bees — just like she promised.
In every bloom, we found stories waiting to be retold.
